Ethernet interface card gives real-time access

EtherNet/IP PCI bus network interface card provides real-time access to I/O through integration of Soft-PLC controllers running under several real time operating systems.
Woodhead announces the release of the industry's first EtherNet/IP PCI bus network interface card (NIC) to the market. The EtherNet/IP NIC is designed to provide real-time access to I/O and other automation devices through integration of Soft-PLC controllers running under several real time operating systems such as VenturCom RTX, QNX, VxWorks, Linux and others. The solution, based on the range of applicom intelligent network interface cards, will allow customers to connect with and obtain data from several Soft-PLC controllers and their related industrial software solutions.

On release the DRL-PCU-ETHIO will be able to communicate with the Wonderware Soft-PLC InControl, ICS Triplex ISaGRAF, GE Fanuc's Paradym-31, and Axeda's WizPLC.

For added customer convenience, the new Ethernet/IP card is designed to work in the PCI Universal bus (3.3-5V signaling), is compatible with multiple operating systems,, and includes a functional software console.
