Serial to Ethernet device servers introduced

Industrial Serial to Ethernet device servers are ideal for connecting serial-based software applications over Ethernet to your remote industrial serial devices.
Sixnet's new Industrial Serial to Ethernet Device Servers (Models ET-DS-1 and ET-SDS-1) are ideal for connecting your serial-based software applications over Ethernet to your remote industrial serial devices. These high performance devices deliver a truly rugged solution in a very compact size. These device servers are easy to use and at the same time are extremely flexible, offering the latest in advanced IP technology.

Use the supplied Quick Configurator for fast set-up or the powerful Device Manager for more advanced configurations.

Easy to use com port redirector software is also provided.

Two models are being offered initially: The ET-DS-1 and the ET-SDS-1.

The latter adds advanced security options.

These device servers offer real-time secure performance including an auto-detecting 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet port and a universal EIA-RS232/422/485 Serial port for serial data tunneling across an IP network.

Other advanced features include back to back (paired mode) operation, port buffering, IPv6 support for future compatibility and more.

Plus the secure SDS model adds cyber security with powerful authentication and encryption schemes over SSL or SSH sessions.

This rugged product is fully industrial rated (UL/CSA, CE, Zone 2 and more) including a wide operating temperature range that meets NEMA TS-2.

It also offers 15kV ESD protection for continuous and reliable long-term operation.

No adapters are needed (in systems with existing 12 or 24V DC power) with the direct 9-30V DC power range.

And troubleshooting is easy with the LED indicators for both the network and serial interfaces.
