Ethernet hub unit allows up to five items of user equipment to be connected through shielded twisted-pair cables in accordance with IEC 802.3 and simplifies installation of Ethernet ports.
At the 2006 Drives and Controls Exhibition, the Harting Technology Group is featuring its new Industrial Communications and Power Networks Division. The new division builds on Harting's established expertise in industrial interconnection systems to provide a complete range of solutions for communications and control in the industrial environment, with particular emphasis on Industrial Ethernet. New products on show include the EHB-67 TP05 Ethernet Hub.
This new unit, which allows up to five items of user equipment to be connected through shielded twisted-pair cables in accordance with IEC 802.3, makes the installation of Ethernet ports in the industrial environment fast and simple, and is ideally suited to use in Ethernet Powerlink applications.
Also new is the Harting ESC TP08 Ethernet switch, which is the first of a range of compact IP30 devices developed for use inside industrial switch cabinets.
The unit allows up to eight Ethernet devices to be connected via RJ45 ports, yet has a width of only 22.5mm to enable considerable space saving for the network installation.
The portfolio of the new division also includes interfaces between industrial automation equipment and sensors and monitoring systems, communications within machines and control systems via a range of other networking standards including AS-i, Profibus and CAN-Open, and links between the industrial and office computing environments.
Other products on show include 'in between' products to link IP67 industrial and IP20 'office' systems, M8 and M12 connectors and their associated subassemblies, RJ Industrial connectors for both copper and fibre-optic communications, and a range of network devices for providing distributed power to the network infrastructure.
