Delcam USA has reported progress in all areas of the business as the developer of the FeatureCAM range of CADCAM software completed its first year as part of the Delcam group of companies.
Delcam USA president Glenn McMinn was able to report progress in all areas of the business as the developer of the FeatureCAM range of CADCAM software completed its first year as part of the Delcam group of companies. 'The company has seen a steady growth in sales, we have released a new version to positive response from our customers and we have expanded our international distribution by adding selected Delcam Sales Partners to our network of resellers,' he stated. 'In addition, the Salt Lake City support team has been doubled in size and we have started on a similar doubling of our development staff.
Progress is well under way in incorporating some new 3D machining technology into the next FeatureCAM release, along with many other enhancements.' Randy Wightman, vice president of sales and marketing at Delcam USA, attributed the sales success to FeatureCAM's ease of learning and use, affordability, and extensive product range, as well as the efforts of the company's strong US direct and reseller sales channel.
The new international resellers that have been authorised from the Delcam network include offices in Australia (Camplex), Brazil (SEACAM Servicos e Comercio), Korea (Hankook Delcam), and South Africa (AZtech - Design and Manufacturing Technology), with several more ready to join the FeatureCAM reseller family once their training has been completed.
In addition, Delcam's subsidiaries in China and Germany will also sell FeatureCAM.
'Although the new resellers have not been a major factor in the revenue increase thus far, they will be a significant factor during this year and beyond,' predicted Wightman.
Alongside the expansion of the distribution network, work has progressed on translating the software into a wider range of languages.
German, French and Chinese versions are now available.
'Increasing our support for a larger number of languages is a key part of our expansion plans following our integration with Delcam,' said McMinn.
'I am confident the success that Italian and Japanese versions of FeatureCAM have achieved will be repeated with our new translations.
Indeed, our Japanese reseller FCS International was our 2005 Distributor of the Year.' The combined marketing power of the merged companies has been seen in a greater interest in Delcam at a number of exhibitions, not least at the EMO exhibition, which saw the launch of the German version of FeatureCAM.
In addition, the number of downloads has increased significantly of the evaluation version from the FeatureCAM Web site.
We have enjoyed a very productive first year as part of the Delcam organisation,' commented McMinn.
'The reaction to the merger from our customers was very positive - they can see the benefits they will get now we are part of a larger organisation.
With the many developments, both technical and commercial, that we currently have under way, I am sure 2006 will be an even better year for FeatureCAM.'
